The short version
Calmraine stores attacks, daily check-ins, pain, medication, symptoms, possible factors, period timing, and notes in protected local storage on your iPhone. You do not create a Calmraine account. The current app contains no advertising SDK and no general-purpose analytics or telemetry SDK.
That does not mean every part of using the app is offline. Purchases use Apple’s App Store flow, with RevenueCat handling subscription and entitlement information. When you choose to create and share an export, that separate file goes wherever you decide to send or save it.
The public Calmraine website is separate from the iPhone app. The website uses Google Analytics to understand page visits, article engagement, and clicks that lead to the App Store. The app’s private diary records are not available to the website or included in those analytics events.
Information kept by the app
Your diary can contain attack timing, headache-free check-ins, pain observations, head locations, pain qualities, symptoms, possible factors, medication and response, notes, and optional period-timing context. Profile and comfort preferences may include a display name or image you choose, goals, reminder settings, haptics, and Live Activity privacy settings.
Diary records use a local SQLite database. The database and exported files use iOS file-protection options. Some preferences and small pieces of system-surface state use iOS preferences and the Calmraine app-group container shared with its Live Activity and widgets.
No account and no automatic health-data sync
The audited app has no Calmraine sign-in, account backend, or automatic cloud health-data sync. It does not currently integrate with Apple Health. Deleting the app may remove local app data unless you created a separate backup first; iOS backup behavior can also depend on your device and Apple settings.
Purchases
Apple processes App Store purchases. Calmraine uses RevenueCat to retrieve available purchase offerings, determine access entitlement, purchase a selected product, and restore purchases. Purchase and entitlement data is therefore subject to Apple’s and RevenueCat’s own systems and privacy practices. Calmraine’s local health-diary database is not intentionally sent to RevenueCat by this implementation.
Exports and backups
Clinic Kit can create a PDF, CSV spreadsheet, or JSON backup after you ask it to. These are separate copies of the information included in that export. Once you share or save a file outside Calmraine, the chosen destination and your device settings govern that copy. JSON restore reads a backup you select and validates its records before changing the diary.
Notifications, widgets, and Live Activities
Optional reminders are scheduled locally and use generic wording. Calmraine widgets and Live Activities show limited diary state from the shared app-group container. You can choose to hide Live Activity details. Your iPhone notification preview and Lock Screen settings also affect what people near your device can see.
What the current app does not include
- Advertising SDKs

- CloudKit or iCloud health-diary sync
- HealthKit access
- A Calmraine account or web dashboard
Website analytics
The website uses Google Analytics 4 with measurement ID G-BHY2T04SNH. It records page views and limited interaction events such as article-reading progress, completed reads, and App Store download-link clicks. Event details can include the page path and title, article title and slug, reading percentage, active reading time, word count, CTA location, CTA text, and destination hostname.
Calmraine does not intentionally send health-diary entries, symptom records, medication records, form contents, email addresses, or exported files to Google Analytics. Google may process device, browser, network, cookie, and approximate-location information under its own systems and policies. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details.
Analytics is configured only for calmraine.com and www.calmraine.com, so local development and preview traffic does not enter the production property.
Your controls
You decide what optional details to enter, whether to enable reminders, whether Live Activity details are shown, and when to create an export or backup. The app includes data controls for backup and restore. For privacy questions or a problem with the app, email support@calmraine.com.
Changes to this explanation
If the app’s data flow, dependencies, purchase system, or account model changes, this page should be updated with the product. Store-level privacy disclosures should also be checked in the App Store before downloading.
