Why Calmraine exists

The most useful diary is the one that respects the difficult moment.

Calmraine is an independent iPhone app built around a simple product decision: during an attack, the interface should ask for less.

Start small

A timestamp can be useful even when a long form is impossible. Calmraine starts with the clock, then keeps optional details available for later. This separation shapes the app—from the low-stimulation Attack Mode to widgets and a Live Activity that keep the timer close.

Stay honest about the record

A blank diary day is not automatically headache-free. A frequently recorded factor is not automatically a trigger. Missing pain is not zero pain. Calmraine’s summaries are designed to preserve those distinctions and describe the information entered without claiming diagnosis or cause.

Make the record portable

Clinic Kit turns a chosen slice of the diary into a PDF or spreadsheet that can support a healthcare conversation. Manual backup and restore keep the user in control of a separate copy. The app is a record-keeping tool, not a medical device and not a replacement for care.

Build for privacy in concrete terms

The health diary is local, no Calmraine account is required, and the current app has no ads or general analytics SDK. Purchase access uses Apple and RevenueCat; user-created exports go where the user chooses. Our privacy page explains those boundaries instead of hiding them behind a slogan.

About this website

Product statements on this site are checked against the current app implementation. Educational migraine and headache content follows a separate editorial policy, remains clearly bounded from medical care, and is not published before its stated review gates are met.
